ELA Stuff

Hello once again! One of our lessons last week was on the use of dictionary. The lesson had to be done because some of you did not know how to look up words using the dictionary. With the many readings that we will be doing in class, this is a skill that needs to be taught and mastered. So I am uploading the pages that we have discussed for your reference. Always remember: make sure you are on the page where the word you are looking for can be found! Look at the top of the page and check the guide words.
Study and commit to memory the following important terms:
  • Guide words
  • Entry words
  • Meanings
  • Pronunciation
  • History of the word (which language it originated)

We will continually visit this lesson until your use of dictionary becomes second nature!

Toodles,

Ms. Maria Acedo
